Ubuntu

This is yet another Linux distribution, but in my view stands high above the other distros. The current version of the same being 7.04 available for both i386 and 64-bit architecture. I tried this for hte first time when was having PC but the experience was not that good, as its a live installation disk that loads the basic OS on ur machine and then u can start the installation from there. It requires min. 256 MB of RAM and my box was having mere 128 of it.

The Second Try. This was a satisfying experience, everything go installed but the performance was poor, it was then when I suddenly realized that I have installed the 32-bit version.

The Third try - I downloaded the 64-bit version of 7.04. Installed it and this is amazing.

You can order the free CDs for the distro. Follow the url.

Order your copy... and give it a try for sure. atleast to the live version of it that runs through the CD. Just insert the disk and boot from it.

I had been reading the news of how India is becoming a global giant in IT, and I also had been listening to people in my IT circle. One of my friend said this to me during a very casual session of talk, but this particular statement initiated a thought process in me, what he said was - "I am looking for the one who's satisfied in this Industry, if you you find one, do bring him to me. I'll love to see him."

If you are also working in this industry, then I ask a question to you- Are you satisfied, If the answer to this is Yes, then let me come to the second round. Are you happy with the work you are doing ? Are you happy with the way your life is heading ? Do you think that your potentials are used in the right stream ? If this also brings yes in you. Then my last two questions to you. Do you think the work that you are doing can't be done by a +2 or +5 candidate ? and the last one, after every working day, are you satisfied with the innovative work that you have done in the office,:-) that is going to help the nation in its growth ? :-)

I bet for 90% of us working in IT industry the answers can't be yes.

Its a blind race, not for work its for money. You look for onsite coz of money, you look for a job change, not for work but for money. In all this unknowingly your priorities have been changed.

I'll continu on this in my next blog.
